Uniform Policy
PE and Games Uniform Policy
Cambridge House Grammar School PE and Games uniform can only be purchased from the online shop. Shop opening dates and times will be communicated through all normal School communication channels.
Only regulation PE/Games kit may be worn. Other sports wear is not acceptable in class or when representing the school. All pupils will be required to wear Cambridge House Grammar School Kit.

*Only CHGS sports leggings bought through the school shop are to be worn in PE/Games.
** Sports trainers must offer sufficient protection and support for the pupil’s feet. We strongly recommend that these are purchased from a recognised sports retailer. Casual footwear, light plimsolls or footwear with flat soles and no ankle support are not acceptable.
Pupils going home after Games periods or after school practices are permitted to wear either full school uniform, including blazer, or CHGS tracksuit bottoms/sports leggings and t-shirt/regulation quarter zip, (but not a mixture of school uniform and Games/PE kit.).
If a pupil is representing the School on a team, agreed CHGS apparel must be worn. Members of teams may be required to or given the opportunity to purchase additional items of kit.
If pupils are involved in a sporting activity from the beginning of the school day they may only come to school in their full tracksuit if they have been given permission to do so by the Head of PE. If PE/Games kit is required to be worn during the day - tracksuit bottoms must be worn. Shorts, skorts and leggings are not permitted to be worn as an alternative.
If pupils are leaving for a sporting activity during the day they come into school in their uniform and they change at the following times:
- Leaving between break and lunch – change at break time;
- Leaving after lunch – change at lunch time.
If pupils return during the course of the school day they must change into full uniform unless they have the full CHGS tracksuit (quarter zip and black Canterbury stadium tracksuit bottoms).
We highly recommend that all items of PE and Games kit are clearly labelled with the owner’s name. If you would like to purchase name tags for your goods, you can purchase these from here.
